Navigating a new country comes with a unique set of daily challenges. From securing stable housing and finding meaningful employment to accessing healthcare and registering children in schools, the journey of integration requires sustained, accurate support.

However, many assistance programs globally are built on incomplete data. To bridge this gap and place real human experiences at the core of policy development, the Socio-Economic Insights Survey (SEIS) 2026 has launched its latest registration cycle for Ukrainians in Romania.

If you are a Ukrainian currently living in Romania, this is your opportunity to ensure decision-makers see the true, unvarnished reality of your day-to-day life.

What is the SEIS 2026 Initiative?

The Socio-Economic Insights Survey (SEIS) is a comprehensive annual research initiative designed to systematically assess the integration, needs, and socioeconomic conditions of the Ukrainian refugee population.

Rather than relying on generic assumptions, the data gathered through SEIS goes directly to international organizations like UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency) and local national bodies. This accurate data helps design targeted humanitarian services, optimize the regional Refugee Response Plan, and allocate resources where they are genuinely required.

The 5 Pillar Areas of the Survey:

Protection: Understanding legal status, safety, and documentation challenges.

Housing: Assessing the stability, safety, and long-term viability of current living arrangements.

Employment: Mapping job integration, skill alignment, and economic self-reliance.

Healthcare: Evaluating access to essential medical services and mental health support.

Education: Ensuring Ukrainian children have smooth integration pathways into national academic frameworks.

Why is participation critical for the community?

Policy change and resource allocation are driven by verified data. When data gaps exist, support systems can become misaligned with what families actually face on the ground.

Every experience shared makes the support framework more accurate. By participating, you are directly informing the agencies responsible for protecting your rights and fostering inclusion within Romanian society. You are effectively highlighting systemic issues to improve conditions for thousands of others facing similar paths.

How to take part

The preliminary registration phase is currently open but active for a limited time. Because the research utilizes stratified random sampling to accurately mirror the distribution of communities across Romanian counties, registering signals your willingness to participate.

If your household is selected for the full, detailed survey questionnaire, an enumerator will contact you to securely capture your input.

Is it mandatory?

No. Participation is completely voluntary.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All survey responses are strictly anonymized, confidential, and handled under rigid international data protection protocols.
